BSN Social - Bowls Night

When I first joined BSN back in April 2022, some of my younger colleagues were shocked to learn that I played an ‘old person’s sport’.

As BSN are keen for their employee’s to interact with one another both inside and outside of the office, it was decided we would have a bowls social night out.

Crown green bowls used to be a thriving game in the Midlands, but unfortunately since Covid the game has gone into a slight decline.

When I was asked to book the green for our social night out, I enlisted the help of my friend and fellow bowler Mandy (Padge).

What a great night it was!

It was lovely to see so many people trying to learn our wonderful game and having a laugh at the same time.

Everyone was split into two teams, with great rivalry between the two. (Team Scoop and team Padge)

Some picked the game up very quickly and a few struggled, but everyone laughed and joked throughout which is exactly how it should be.

The eventual winner of the evening was Sam (from team Padge)

A gift voucher was awarded by BSN to the winner. There was a buffet and drinks afterwards in The Woodman Pub which finished off a very entertaining evening.

Would I attempt to teach 16 people to bowl again all in one night?

Of course.... it’s all in the joy of the game 😊
