The Great BSN Bake off

It was Friday 24th September when the BSN bakers nervously entered the tent. Some had spent weeks practicing their patisserie skills, whereas others were lucky to know the difference between washing soda and baking soda.

Nevertheless, in order to be crowned star baker, all bakers knew they had to focus. Mind over batter. No one wanted the embarrassment of leaving the tent, as after all what do you call a BSN bake off contestant who quits?... A dessert-ter.

The chosen theme for this enormous challenge was travel, which led to many unique cakes (many so original that the professionals hadn’t ever seen cakes like those before). We had an easy jet boarding pass, route 66 and a tequila sunrise cake just to mention a few.

Hannah Berry and Pippa Hollywood then made the final decision on who would be crowned the BSN star bakers for the best tasting cake, which was a difficult task as all teams had produced great cakes, with no soggy bottoms in sight.

After crowning the winners, all bakers went out for a team meal to celebrate, with a few bakers continuing the celebrations into the early hours.
